Artists Statement

Representation is not my primary focus; instead, I am drawn to the emotional undercurrents tied to the
experience of shape, form, colour, and materials.
Over the years, my approach to painting has been deeply influenced by a fascination with structure and
surface. I create works that bridge the divide between two- and three-dimensional forms, blending
the illusionary aspects of both. Through this, I aim to evoke an emotional response, using the language of
colour and form as my tools.
In many of my paintings, the shaped sections can appear as either concave or convex, depending on
how the external light moves across their surfaces. This shifting interaction highlights the transient
nature of colour and light, challenging the flatness of the painted surface and redefining the relationship
between edge and form.
My involvement with printmaking has been a significant influence on my painting practice. The
process of creating surfaces for printing and working with stencils has informed many aspects of my work.
Over time, my experimentation with techniques has blurred the boundaries between painting and printmaking to the point where the two disciplines feel almost indistinguishable.
My paintings and prints have been exhibited regionally and nationally and are included in
corporate and private collections in the UK, Australia, and Chile.
I’ve participated in gallery and group shows in London, such as the RA Summer Exhibition, Cork Street Open at Gallery 27, the Mall Galleries NEAC, the National Print Exhibition, the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea, and the Business Design Centre in London. The Royal West of England Academy, Bristol, and other parts of the UK.
Corporate collections that feature my work include
One Aldwych Hotel in London, TELOS Partners in
Windsor, and Helen Green Design, a leading interior
design firm. Through my exploration of form,
surface, and the dynamic relationship between
painting and printmaking, I strive to create work that
engages and resonates with diverse audiences.
